Case 14
A 42 year-old lady with regular menses admitted because of her
distressing edema and gaining weight, this edema started in both lower
limbs that extended to involve both upper limbs and lastly affecting the
face especially at the morning. So the condition became distressful for
her so she sought medical advice and hospital admission in a trial to
put an end to this situation.
Her examination showed no clinical findings of significance apart
from overweight and the edema.
Investigations showed normal liver, renal and thyroid functions.
Urine analysis: no abnormalities detected.
Abdominal ultrasonography showed fatty liver and bilateral 2 simple
renal cortical cysts.
Plain CXR and echocardiography showed no abnormalities.
Where is the problem?
