Case 19
She is diabetic, 55 year-old, with a history of mitral valve
replacement 8 years ago and on oral anticoagulant, she was quite well
till 5 days ago when she developed acute right-sided ocular and facial
inflammation followed by loss of vision on the affected eye and mouth
deviation.
Examination :
- right painful ophthalmoplegia
- no light perception
- Fundus: no retinal vascular affection, just pale optic disc
- right facial palsy
N.B. the patient gave a history of recurrent fever and running nose in
the last months.
