Case 8
A 16 years old girl, 4 months ago she suffered from epigastric pain,
vomiting and sometimes hyperacidity. She had upper endoscopy done
resulting in: markedly dilated stomach with extensive residue, also
dilated 1st part of duodenum and the endoscope could
not pass beyond so she was advised to do barium study and surgery.
Barium study: markedly dilated stomach reaching the
pelvis with food residue (complete atonic stomach).
Surgery: tight Treitz ligament.
But the
symptoms still present especially as regard pain with just a change in
its site (now peri-umbilical).
